Woahhh, what an end! We’ve been mobbed and our kitchen is empty - save some veg and produce that isn’t quite enough to make a meal - we’re here for the next couple hours having a tidy up, but we still have some produce left. If you need anything, swing by - we have heaps of sourdough and veggies, eggs etc left - for a gold coin donation to Here For Ya Mate!
Feeling festive? Today’s hot sell was our christmassy lunch special - lentil and mushroom loaf, with super crispy twice cooked sweet potatoes, tomato and spinach sauce and a lil splash of cranberry and Shiraz reduction because.. Christmas. Served with snow pea tendrils because that’s how we do things around here. Tastebuds tingling? We’ll be back tomorrow from 8am
Another satisfied customer, Murphy enjoyed hecking down on his special plate of bacon whilst his mum Madyson had her brekkie!
Sunflower number two is starting to hatch! Just in time for our last Sunday brunch of 2020 - who’s coming down? Our kitchen will be open until 1:00 today - looking forward to seeing your beautiful faces - and then, we’ll be back tomorrow morning for our first and last Monday in an eternity as the wind down for Christmas starts!
The gang were dead busy today lining our beautiful new planters, filling them up and planting all of the little plants we’ve been nursing on the tables the last few weeks - we’ve got bush beans, radishes, all manner of tomatoes, crystal apples (a really cool kind of cucumber we discovered via a beer we bought recently), passion fruit for some coverage and shade, allll the herbs, aloe.. more snow peas (because we haven’t got enough already), the list goes on! Then we beasted ...our old planters into the garden nearby, did some transplanting, planted some colourful bee-friendly seeds in.. and after that we all collapsed. See you tomorrow morning - 10-2:30, we’re closing a half hour earlier than usual for the first The Piano Has Been Drinking - a regular night of piano, booze and community conversation we hope to hold!
We’re not really tree and tinsel people - but we certainly are local artist supporting people! Perhaps it’s a little early but we couldn’t wait to get these fabulous Christmas ISO chook by the wonderful Joan Denison - local Eltham legend - up on our walls. We need some cheer right now and these cute chooks are ticking all the boxes for us. Cheers Joan - bloody love your work, we sent some people to find you today! ‘Our chooks aren’t for sale, sorry!’ became the shop mantra!
Breakfast time! This time we’ve eaten an appropriate meal for the time of day (no southern fried burgers at 8am today, thank you) - today’s brekkie special, a coconut tofu scramble on our much loved sourdough with crispy onions, black salt, mint, coriander and basil. Delish!
We’re never short of inspired (or shocked, tbh) by our community’s willingness to get involved. Here’s Ant, teacher, husband, long term supporter of Earthbound, doing his bit to contribute to an amazing charity championing mental health, testicular and prostate cancer. If you’ve got a spare dollar, consider chipping it in here - during times like those we live in, it’s hard to know where to put our goodwill - but if we all pick thing that is important to us, we should have... most of it covered in next to no time. Looking for some preweekend brekkie or lunch? Drop in and feast on our vegan mac with walnut rocket pesto crust whilst it lasts!
Earthbound are looking for a gun to join our team on a casual basis. Who are Earthbound? We expect you’d be able to tell us - we value people who know and care, who do their research. What’re we looking for? We need someone who knows their way around a coffee machine, is fast on their feet, who isn’t afraid of getting involved in the kitchen. Someone who cares deeply for people, wants to connect and be part of our community. ... An understanding of veganism is a must, we are looking for someone who is willing to connect deeply with our patrons, do what is right, someone who is switched on and fast moving. Someone who is passionate about our planet, and how our actions impact on others. Some experience necessary, we will train you in the Earthbound way if you bring your kit of skills and understanding with you - our home is fast moving and hectic: if you would like to join our family please send through your resumé and a brief paragraph to tell us why you’re right for our team.
Edit:// tickets are sold out. We are excited! We have three tickets left for this Saturdays night of piano, booze and confession. Need a break and some adult conversation? Book here: https://earthboundbolton.simpletix.com/e/59911
A couple of snaps from yesterday’s shenanigans with Here For Ya Mate - it’s bloody great to be back and rolling again after what has felt like an endless winter for so many people. We were too ‘in the moment’ to remember to take photographs throughout the day - but pictured: one exhausted, happy team, vegan momos with chilli sauce, oyster mushrooms marinaded in smoked maple and soy, with chilli and peach relish in beet brioche. Not pictured: alllllll the dumplings, barbecue..., coffee and molasses marinaded Fable, calamari, all of the hummus and roast carrot and cumin dip with herb roasted sourdough, and a gang of incredibly happy celebrators. Happy Sunday - hope you’re all getting out to enjoy some sunshine! See you Tuesday
Happy Saturday, gang! We’ll be closing early today - our last lunch sitting available is 12PM, because we have a private function from 1PM! What delights go down at a private function, you might want to know? Well, the answer is, what works for you and your crew? Today, thats coffee and molasses BBQ sliders, maple and soy roasted oyster mushrooms with peach and chilli chutney, and a list of our much loved dips, breads, and petit fours! ... See you for brekkie
